In honor of Mother's Day, we're starting a new feature called, "Green Hour Moms," featuring real moms who find time in their family's busy schedules for good ol' fashioned firefly-catching, cloud-watching and many other simple pleasures found in the outdoors.
Today, meet Shawna, Molly and Ashley: three mommy bloggers who never cease to inspire me.
- Nature For Kids: Shawna Andreasen has three kids under the age of 6 -- and still manages to play outside AND provide online tips for parents on camping, outdoor crafts, hiking and more. She also features real-life families who share their outdoor adventures in places as diverse as Costa Rica and Idaho. I also love her nature quotes page -- instant inspiration.
- MommyCoddle, a Family Field Guide: Molly Balint's site chronicles her life raising three little girls in a fixer-upper farmhouse in Maryland. She has a knack for noticing the beauty of ordinary moments, and reminds her readers to slow down and be mindful of the simple joys found right in your backyard. Check out her "Simple Question" for this week: How do you slow down and savor your evening family time?
- Fletcher and Lola - Ashley Gaddy's blog chronicles her family's life in Savannah, GA. One of the reasons her entries sparkle and shine is her amazing photography. Check out this photo with the entry titled "The lazy sunday." And one day in January, they braved the cold drizzle and the mud and played outside. Makes me want to get on that swing right next to Lola.
