Photo Shoot
Click! goes the camera, again and again. Small, steady hands. Quiet concentration. I'm always amazed when my son can be still. And, amazing as it is, this feat always seems to be easier for him when he's outside.
Today we're documenting the coming of winter in photos. Naked tree limbs, so interesting in shape and form since their leaves have dropped. Frost on the grass. Even the light looks different at this time of year. So many changes in our familiar landscape!
Each of the kids takes a turn with the digital camera. How fun to see what catches their eyes -- each of them so different. It's also a great way to practice using the camera and to foster their interest in art. I love anytime I can work creativity into their days.
Some of their shots will make it into our nature journal. Others, we'll make into a calendar the kids can give to their grandparents as holiday gifts. They'll also decorate frames with natural objects likes twigs and acorns and frame their favorite shots for Dad's office. My holiday shopping list is getting shorter by the minute!
